A day of excitement and anticipation in the baseball world. A big day for Planetary Extreme Baseball Alliance teams and all of the aspiring amateur players eligible to be drafted. The first five choices will be made by Aurora, Connecticut, Aurora, London and Fargo.
It has been reported on BNN that the first ten selections are likely to include:
1. Brad Anderson, 21 year-old center fielder out of college. 2. Bill Bradley, 21 year-old starting pitcher out of college. 3. Decheng Wen, 21 year-old first baseman out of college. 4. Austin McKee, 18 year-old first baseman out of high-school. 5. Rod Young, 21 year-old third baseman out of college. 6. Jeffrey Matthews, 21 year-old right fielder out of college. 7. Brad Cain, 21 year-old center fielder out of college. 8. Francisco Robles, 18 year-old starting pitcher out of high-school. 9. Dan Truax, 21 year-old left fielder out of college. 10. King Adams, 21 year-old starting pitcher out of college. |  | Saturday, June 6th, 2009: Weaver Cracks 5 Hits 5 hits in a game doesn't happen every day. Aurora's Chris Weaver had a very special day against the Cyclones when everything came together for him and he did just that -- collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats -- and led the Aurora Borealis to a 13-2 win at Northern Lights Park.
"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Weaver said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em."
C. Weaver singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off S. Miyamoto in the 7th.
In 2009 Weaver has produced 69 hits in 217 at-bats for a .318 average with 5 home runs and gotten on base at a .385 clip. |  | Friday, June 5th, 2009: Charleston Center Fielder Out Orlando García and the Charleston Statesmen got a bad break in today's game against the Trendsetters as the team confirmed he will miss 8-9 weeks with a torn back muscle. The Statesmen center fielder suffered the injury making a defensive play. The team doctor is confident he'll make a full recovery.
