 | Wednesday, June 25th, 2008: Featherheads Saunders Sidelined for 8 Weeks Watching Chris Saunders getting helped off the field today at Farmer Field, fans of the Florida Featherheads feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the starting pitcher will miss 8 weeks with back spasms. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Saunders suffered the injury throwing a pitch in the game against the Maulers. This year Saunders has posted a 8-3 mark in 16 starts and has a 1.88 ERA. |
