 | Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008: Ornelas and Calderón Swapped The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The Kentucky Thoroughbreds sent 35-year old starting pitcher Ramón Ornelas to the Duluth Warriors for 30-year old third baseman Anastasio Calderón. Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal. This year Ornelas has registered 2 wins and 7 losses in 10 starts with a 5.61 ERA while registering 39 strikeouts and 15 walks in 77 innings. In 2008 Calderón is currently batting .165 with 8 home runs and 19 RBIs. In 54 games he has reached base at a .213 rate and scored 14 runs to date. |
