 | Tuesday, May 13th, 2008: Pierce Batters Fargo Big Time! It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Steve Pierce -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at John Deere Stadium and paced the Bulldozers to a 9-8 win over the Fargo Dinosaurs. After his dynamite batting performance the Yuma center fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 7 tries and put his name in the record book. S. Pierce hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, flied out in the 11th and hit an RBI single in the 13th. Hitting .305 to date, Pierce has no home runs and 4 RBIs. He has played in 22 games. |
