Monday, September 29th, 2008: Allentown Takes Title
The season came to a crashing halt for the Sioux Falls Lakota when the Allentown Falcons beat them 4-3 today at Falcons Ballpark to sweep the Ambasador's Cup 1-0.

Fans in Allentown have already begun the celebration and officials are expecting huge numbers when the championship parade takes place in a few days.

"Unbelievable for us, for our fans," the elated Falcons skipper said. "This team has worked as hard as any team ever. They deserve it. What these guys have done -- they're going to enjoy it for a long time."

This was the 1st championship for the Falcons.

Asked after the game, what it's like to lose in the Ambasador's Cup, Sioux Falls's manager replied, "You want the results to be different." Then he added, "They simply outplayed us, they deserve it. They beat us. They're the champions."

Allentown finished the season with a record of 77-67 and ranked first in the Appalachian Mountain League Northeast.
Friday, August 15th, 2008: Sewell Struts Stuff in Providence Win
"It was just one of those games, when everything went right. I threw a lot of strikes," Richard Sewell said. "And the pitches they did get to hit, they didn't do anything with them."

The Allentown Falcons pitcher really got it done in his 1-0 shutout victory over the Providence Spooners, shutting them down on 4 hits. Sewell issued 1 walk and had 6 strikeouts.

To date in 2008, Sewell has registered 16 starts, 10-2 won-lost mark, 2.49 ERA, 104.2 IP, 71 strikeouts and 33 walks. Opposing teams have hit .217 against him.
