| Breaking News | | Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008: Beantown's White Asked for Trade. Fact or Fiction? Allegedly, Dwight White has asked to be traded from Beantown. It is rumored that he is unhappy with fans and the team management and that maybe the pressure and demands of playing here are too great. | | Tuesday, August 12th, 2008: Hits Galore! Navarro Drills 5 Hits! It was a sensational day at the plate for Marcos Navarro, but a letdown as well as the Browns dropped the game 5-4 to the Saucers.
Nonetheless the Beantown right fielder was pure misery for the Worcester pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win. That's the important thing," Navarro said.
The manager for the Saucers told SION reporters after the game, "Navarro put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw him some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
M. Navarro hit a solo-shot off F. Sousa in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off A. Hobbs in the 10th.
In this current campaign Navarro is hitting at a .311 clip with 10 home runs and 32 RBIs. | | Saturday, July 12th, 2008: Robertson 5-5 Against El Dorados It was a good day all around. Beantown whipped Raleigh 15-5 and Harley Robertson displayed a hot bat, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day at Beantown Ballpark.
"Some days, lady luck is on your side," he modestly told SION reporters after the game. His manager told the beat writers otherwise, "His hitting wasn't luck today. It's his solid approach to hitting. Harley is focused, patient and he hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have, and vice versa."
The 24-year-old center fielder for the Browns collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats to get his name in the record book.
H. Robertson was hit by a pitch in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off S. Gonzáles in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and doubled in the 9th.
This year Robertson has hit at a .301 clip with 46 RBIs, 13 home runs and 52 runs scored. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | C Luis García | flu | 2 days | Not on DL | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 73-71, .507 PCT | | Position in Division | 3rd, 4.0 GB | | Record at home | 41-31, .569 PCT | | Record on the road | 32-40, .444 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 8-12, .400 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 22-23, .489 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 9-13, .409 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 64-58, .525 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 5-5, .500 PCT | | Record in April | 11-9, .550 PCT | | Record in May | 15-13, .536 PCT | | Record in June | 14-12, .538 PCT | | Record in July | 12-16, .429 PCT | | Record in August | 14-15, .483 PCT | | Record in September | 7-6, .538 PCT |
