Sunday, April 12th, 2009: Lincoln Whitewashes Mansfield, Reed Winner
Samuel Reed had the Mansfield Mohicans dancing to his tune today with a sparkling 5-0 shutout performance for the Lincoln Emancipation. He gave up 6 hits and collected 1 walk and 5 strikeouts.

Mansfield hitters were bewildered throughout the game by his delivery.

The opposing manager said, "When you face a guy who hides the ball like he does, it takes a couple of at-bats to try to find his release point. We just never figured him out."

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009: White on Fire: 5-5 for Lincoln
"It was like I was hitting little league pitching again," said Charlie White after his 5-hit performanace against the Rafters. "No offense meant to Grand Rapids, but I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid league park, it was Emancipation Stadium. I'm just not too happy that we lost 6-5."

The Lincoln right fielder had a fantastic day at the plate, knocking out 5 hits in 5 at-bats.

His manager elaborated after the game to the press, saying, "Charlie worked the entire offseason on trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball and the hard work is paying off in base hits."

"That's what I'm trying to do," White said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it. It sure did work today."

C. White singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
