| Breaking News |  | Saturday, October 11th, 2008: Canadian Alliance Names Best Hitter
The Canadian Alliance Outstanding Hitter Award has been picked for 2008 and the honor goes to the Provo Missionaries hitting machine, Shunji Tanaka.
This season he compiled a .309 batting average with 173 hits, 41 doubles, 8 triples and 3 home runs, along with 78 RBIs and 83 runs scored.
For being named the CA's best batter Tanaka will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend.

 | Monday, September 8th, 2008: Nakayama Sticks It to RML Pitchers
Keitaro Nakayama of the Provo Missionaries had a fantastic week and today was voted the Player of the Week by the Rocky Mountain League.
For the week Nakayama batted .462 (12-26) with 3 home runs and 9 RBIs.
Nakayama is hitting .307 this season with 33 home runs, 118 RBIs and 80 runs scored. He has 162 hits in 527 at-bats.

 | Monday, September 1st, 2008: Rocky Mountain League Picks Best Starter in August
Luis García hasn't been around the big leagues long enough to know that youngsters shouldn't be winning Rocky Mountain League Pitcher of the Month. But when you put up numbers like his, you're going to get some notice.
In August the Provo starter earned a 4-0 mark in 5 starts. He threw 36.2 innings, struck out 16 and compiled a solid 2.45 ERA.
This season García has compiled a 14-3 record with a 3.59 ERA.
