Youngstown pitcher Luis Jiménez blanked the Hartford Insurers 4-0, tossing a 4-hitter while issuing no walks and collecting 4 strikeouts.
After his sharp shutout performance, he said that he gives a lot of the credit to his batterymate. "Me and him are just locked in out there. He's so great at having a feel for hitters. I couldn't do what I'm doing without him."
In 7 starts this year Jiménez has recorded a 4-2 record and a 2.22 ERA. |
 | Wednesday, April 8th, 2009: Arnold's Season Could be Over
Jerry Arnold has to call it a season. The Hartford Insurers starting pitcher sustained a season-ending injury against the Youngstown Thunder and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Arnold was injured while throwing a pitch. His doctors diagnosed it as a ruptured bicep tendon and stated that he would not be able to play for 8 months.

 | Tuesday, August 5th, 2008: Mitchell Shackles Hartford
Ed Mitchell of the Delaware Diamonds put the clamps on the opposition and held the Hartford Insurers scoreless in a 3-hit whitewash.
"He's got some good stuff, but we should have done better than that," said the Hartford skipper after the 5-0 loss.
Mitchell was on target most of the game and finished with 10 strikeouts and 2 walks.
On his 2008 stats sheet Mitchell shows a 11-7 record, 23 starts, 140 innings, 123 strikeouts and a 2.96 ERA.
