He has 163 hits including 16 home runs, 34 walks and .332 OBP. |  | Saturday, September 6th, 2008: Campos Torches Reckoning for 5 Hits Hampton third baseman Nelson Campos put on quite a show at Airborne Ballpark with a big 5-hit day in the 12-2 victory over the Rockville Reckoning.
In the postgame interview, he said with a smile, "Not a bad day at the plate...5-6...wish I could do this more often. It would do wonders for my batting average...and my salary, too."
N. Campos singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off M. Clark in the 9th.
This year Campos is hitting .267 with 17 home runs and 65 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .317 clip and scored 67 runs. |  | Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008: Hernández Smacks 6 Hits for Loggerdoggers If just anyone could go out and hit a baseball, big dollar contracts wouldn't exist. But they can't, so the good hitters get the big bucks. Alejandro Hernández showed how it's done as he went 6 for 7 against the Rockville Reckoning and helped the Beaufort Loggerdoggers beat them 21-3.
The manager for the Reckoning told the SION sportswriters, "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it. That's the game of baseball. Don't make mistakes and you win a lot more ballgames."
If Hernández keeps hitting like this, he could be headed for a big pay raise.
