César Juárez put together a tremendous season at the plate for Parma, capturing one of baseball's most coveted offensive trophies, the American Alliance Outstanding Hitter Award.
He posted a .277 batting average and .382 on-base percentage this year while reeling off 136 hits, 27 doubles, 1 triple, 24 home runs and 88 RBIs.
For being named the AA's top hitter, Juárez will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend.

 | Friday, October 10th, 2008: Best Pitcher Honor Goes to Thomas of Parma
Albert Thomas joined an elite class of pitchers today by picking up the American Alliance Outstanding Pitcher Award for 2008.
The 24-year-old hurler finished the year 17-7 for the Parma Ghoulardi, piling up 185.1 innings, 135 strikeouts and walking 49 on his way to a solid 2.48 ERA.
He will pick up his award this weekend at the annual SBWA meeting.

"He was kind of teasing them with his offspeed stuff and his fastball was moving everywhere," the Parma skipper said in postgame comments after Albert Thomas had shut out the Delaware Diamonds 6-0 on a 4-hit masterpiece.
Thomas numbered 6 strikeouts and issued no walks in a gem of a performance.
"We just didn't swing the bats very well . . . or he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," complained the Delaware manager after the defeat.
So far this year Thomas has 17 wins and 7 losses and a 2.48 ERA.
