Tuesday, July 15th, 2008: Martínez Homers 3 Times Against Gatineau
Bombs away!

Hamilton bombardier Álex Martínez set his sights on the stands and blasted three balls over the fence in a 7-5 win over the Gatineau Balloonists.

It was a powerful performance that should keep the fans at Hamilton Grounds buzzing for days.

He spoke to the writers in the postgame press room and said, "I guess you could say I was a good guesser today...especially on the last one...I was ahead in the count, so I got set for a certain pitch...and got it...all of it."

For the game the Hamilton center fielder had 4 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 4 and scored 3 runs.

Á. Martínez hit a solo-shot off V. Colón in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off V. Colón in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off S. Fujii in the 5th, walked in the 7th and tripled in the 9th.

In 68 games this season Martínez has batted at a .225 pace with 62 hits and 4 home runs.
Monday, July 7th, 2008: Hamilton Bats Silenced by Jennings
Sammy Jennings of the Brampton Camels just toyed with the Hamilton Industrialists today, blanking them 1-0. He was almost untouchable, baffling them on a 3-hit shutout with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk.

"I'm sweating now because it's hot in here," Jennings said in the clubhouse after the game. "But it didn't even feel like I was sweating out there."

One of his teammates said it was easy to play behind him today. "It was like he's just playing with the hitters and doing whatever he wanted to do."

To this point in the season Jennings has 6 wins and 4 losses and a 3.38 ERA.
