Not known for his offensive prowess, Mark Wearne set the league afire in April and took home the Canadian Alliance Batter of the Month award.
The Brampton shortstop posted a steady .400 batting average, 3 home runs, 14 RBIs and 18 runs.

At Islanders Ballpark today Brampton dropped a 10-0 decision to Jayson Foster and the Laval Islanders. The Camels offered little resistance to Foster, who stopped them on 2 hits, fanned 4 and walked 2.

"That was one of my best outings," said Fred Negrón. "I was worried a lot in the bullpen. My ball wasn't quite right. Luckily, it can be two different worlds -- the bullpen and the game. Once I stepped on the field, it all fell into place."
It was an impressive start for the Camels hurler. He blanked the Frenchies 5-0 on a strong 3-hitter while ringing up 6 strikeouts and doling out 1 walk.
So far this year Negrón has made 22 starts, tossed 143.1 innings, struck out 121 batters and walked 28. His record is 8-6 with a 2.57 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .226 batting average.
