| Breaking News | | Saturday, May 9th, 2009: Great Stroke: Leahy Gets 5 Hits If the Toronto Phantoms know how best to pitch the Red Deer third baseman Travis Leahy they didn't tip their hand today. Instead Leahy showed he knew how best to hit them as he easily handled Phantoms pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Kings to a 8-6 triumph at Kings Ballpark.
He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball."
The Toronto skipper quipped, "Well, the next time we may just do that... blindfold him... and then pitch him differently, just to be sure."
T. Leahy hit an RBI single in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off R. López in the 9th.
So far this year Leahy is batting .333 with 2 home runs. | | Monday, April 20th, 2009: Canadian Alliance Picks Top Performer The Red Deer Kings received word today that right fielder Miguel Sánchez was selected Canadian Alliance Player of the Week for his stellar performance in last week's games.
