| Breaking News |  | Thursday, September 4th, 2008: Big Day for Mahony! Swats 5 Hits! Benjamin Mahony got the glory and the headlines today, while the Dover White Cliffs got the win. The Alexandria catcher easily handled White Cliffs pitching, going 5 for 5, but the Macedonians came out on the short end of the score 6-5.
He told SION reporters in the postgame interview, "I'm glad I got the hits, but I would trade three or four of 'em for a win...maybe even all 5 of 'em."
The Macedonians skipper added, "Well, it's a shame we didn't get the victory today, especially with his standout performance. Let's just hope our team can do better tomorrow."
B. Mahony singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off P. Moreno in the 9th.
To date Mahony has chalked up a .297 average with 11 home runs, driven in 73 runs and scored 88 times. |  | Monday, August 25th, 2008: AWL's #1 Player Named Robert Major of the Dover White Cliffs was locked in all week as he bullied the Amber Waves League pitchers he faced. Major put up some great numbers and hauled in the Amber Waves League Player of the Week trophy.
He hit .609 with 1 home run and 3 RBIs. The 22-year-old center fielder also scored 6 runs and for the week went 14-23.
This season Major is batting .342 with 1 home run. He has scored 22 runs and driven in 8. |  | Saturday, August 23rd, 2008: Rodríguez Hot, Tornadoes Cold Felipe Rodríguez of the Dover White Cliffs was on fire against Drumright. He shut them down 3-0 on 5 hits and no runs with 6 strikeouts and 2 walks.
"The first two pitches I'm looking for an out, a ground ball or a fly ball," Rodríguez said. "I'm trying to get quick outs. I've never been a big believer in trying to strike a guy out from the very first pitch. It's too easy to end up behind in the count doing that."
