| Breaking News |  | Saturday, May 9th, 2009: Sloan 5-5 for Rosarito
On top of the Rosarito hit parade today was Johnny Sloan. He went to the plate 5 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Monjas del Vuelo to a 12-3 victory over the Escondido Stone Brews.
The sweet swinging third baseman told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."
The skipper of the Stone Brews wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
J. Sloan singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off E. Rojas in the 8th.
This season in 18 games, Sloan has hit at a .379 clip with 25 hits, 2 home runs, 13 RBIs and 8 runs scored.

Ensenada was pleased to see so many goose eggs up on the scoreboard today as Chet King blanked Escondido 5-0. He stopped them on 3 hits with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts.
His skipper said, "Once he gets in a groove, he can be dynamite. He was on top of his game in this one."

The Baja Cali League has selected Les Parker of the Escondido Stone Brews as Player of the Week.
He hit .484 (15-31) this past week collecting 6 RBIs, scored 6 runs and 2 home runs.
In the 2008 season Parker is hitting .286 with 7 home runs.
