| Breaking News |  | Tuesday, April 28th, 2009: Zero Hits for Robinson, UAB Halts Hit Streak Rick Robinson had his hitting streak snapped at 20 games today during a 6-4 Northwestern win over the UAB Dragons at Purple Haze Ballpark. The 18-year-old second baseman was hitless in 4 at-bats.
Looking at his stats this year, Robinson has compiled a .317 batting average, while hitting no home runs and driving in 16 runs. He has played in 45 games and scored 16 runs. |  | Monday, April 27th, 2009: Robinson Hits in 20 Straight Games The Purple Haze won the game today, but you would have been hard pressed to find anyone talking about it. The focus seemed to be on second baseman Rick Robinson extending his hitting streak to 20 games by going 1-for-5 in the game.
"Sure we are happy that we won, but seeing Rick extend his streak was also special," said a jubilant Northwestern manager. "He's a special player who is capable of doing some amazing things at the plate."
For the record, the Purple Haze defeated the UAB Dragons 10-8 at Purple Haze Ballpark. R. Robinson grounded out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
So far this season Robinson is batting .323 with no home runs, 16 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has 63 hits in 195 at-bats, 4 walks and a .338 OBP.
