"I got my pitches and I connected. They all found the right holes on the diamond. Some days you hit shots and they're right at somebody... and some days they fall in."
S. Meléndez hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off E. Bryant in the 9th.

He exited yesterday's Brophy Prep game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Richardson would be out 8 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer.
"He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
This year his season stats show Richardson has 2 saves in 21 relief appearances with a 3-1 record and 5.35 ERA. | | Friday, May 8th, 2009: Hernández Smacks 5 Hits for Tigers "It was like I was hitting little league pitching," said Juan Hernández after his 5-hit performance against the Chancellors. "No offense meant to Chatsworth HS, but it was like I was back in little league again. I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid league park, it was Tigers Ballpark."
The Katy HS catcher had a fantastic day at the plate, knocking out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and pacing his club to a 15-7 victory.
His manager elaborated after the game to the press, saying, "Juan worked the entire offseason on trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball and the hard work is paying off in base hits."
"That's what I'm trying to do," Hernández said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
J. Hernández singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and flied out in the 8th.
In the current season, Hernández has put up a .356 batting average with 16 hits, 4 home runs, 12 runs batted in and scored 12 runs. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 25-29, .463 PCT | | Position in Division | 7th, 9.0 GB | | Record at home | 11-16, .407 PCT | | Record on the road | 14-13, .519 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 2-3, .400 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 7-8, .467 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 7-12, .368 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 18-17, .514 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 4-6, .400 PCT | | Record in March | 3-8, .273 PCT | | Record in April | 14-11, .560 PCT | | Record in May | 8-10, .444 PCT |
