Jorge Guevara of the Shin Seiki Evas was really in the zone as he mowed down the Hyakujuu hitters 9-0 in a sterling mound performance.
"I'm feeling good overall," he said.
"I'm executing my pitches, I'm able to hit my spots and I'm getting outs in key situations."
Guevara shut down the Hyakujuu Mighty Mecha, blanking them on 4 hits while registering 8 strikeouts and 2 walks.
Up to now Guevara has recorded a record of 4-2. In 9 starts he has fanned 68 batters in 76.1 innings with a 2.24 ERA. |
 | Tuesday, June 30th, 2009: Ouch! Tatsukichi Suzuki Shelved by Injury
After the end of today's game between Shin Seiki and Neo-Tokyo, Tatsukichi Suzuki skipped the clubhouse and headed straight for the doctor's office. After he was removed from the game as a precaution after making a defensive play, the Evas had their worst fears confirmed when it turned out to be more serious. The left fielder will miss at least 1-2 weeks with a fractured finger.
Presently Suzuki is batting .216 with 21 hits and 5 home runs. He has knocked in 11 runs and scored 13 times. |
| Monday, June 29th, 2009: Guevara Hurls Evas to Shutout Win
Today at Ballpark of Shin Seiki Jorge Guevara really had his stuff working. The Shin Seiki hurler mystified the Neo-Tokyo Akiras and shut them out 7-0. Guevara allowed a total of 2 hits in the ballgame.
This year Guevara has a 3-2 record with a 2.54 ERA in 8 starts. |
