| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, July 1st, 2009: Sensational Month for BBG Rookie
Kiyomitsu Saikawa was toddling around on his tricycle when some of the guys he's playing against were in their prime, but the 23-year-old right fielder definitely knows how to get to first, second or beyond. Today he was chosen June's Bright Blade Group Rookie of the Month for his remarkable month of hitting.
In 12 games Saikawa batted .321 for Lupin, slapping 9 hits in 28 at-bats with 1 home run, drove in 3 runs and scored 5 times.
To date this year Saikawa is batting .234 with 2 home runs. |
 | Sunday, June 14th, 2009: Cliff Hangers Ishikawa Lost for Year
The season is finished for Atsumori Ishikawa of the Lupin Cliff Hangers. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Cliff Hangers starting pitcher suffered a ruptured bicep tendon while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Ranma Pandas. Team doctors said it would take at least 7 months to heal.
Thus far this season Ishikawa has posted a 4-0 record, started 5 games, struck out 26 batters in 32.1 innings and compiled a 3.62 ERA.

 | Sunday, May 31st, 2009: Katsuhiko Rin Out for Season
The doctors have spoken and Katsuhiko Rin of the Lupin Cliff Hangers didn't like what he heard. The 26-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Rin sustained his season-ending injury during the Fushigi Yugi Celestial Warriors game yesterday at Field of the Cliff Hangers. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Lupin medical staff reported Rin had a torn bicep muscle and would be absent from the lineup for at least 8 months.
