Breaking News Monday, June 1st, 2009: Sekiguchi Nabs BBG #1 Pitcher Award Koto Sekiguchi's been around the league long enough to appreciate the honor he received today. After going 3-0 in May, the 28-year-old Magami hurler has been named Bright Blade Group Pitcher of the Month. He fanned 34 in 28.2 innings, logged an ERA of 2.20 and allowed opponents to hit .228 against him. Monday, May 25th, 2009: BBG Star of the Week Chosen Tetsui Sakai did nothing to hurt his value as an upcoming free agent last week, making contact with the ball at every opportunity and reeling in the Bright Blade Group Player of the Week Award. The center fielder hit .556 for the Akos, recording 15 hits in 27 at-bats, 1 home run, 2 RBIs and 4 runs scored. Wednesday, November 26th, 2008: Toyota and Nakashima Traded A trade between the Magami Akos and the Ranma Pandas was made official this morning. The Magami Akos have sent 26-year old catcher Yukinaga Toyota to the Ranma Pandas in exchange for 25-year old starting pitcher Michio Nakashima and 22-year old minor league starting pitcher José Nieves.
