Ángel Alvarado went on a week-long hitting streak against Alianza Béisbol Al Sur de la Frontera pitchers and captured the Player of the Week honors.
The El Ray first baseman battered the opposition for 10 hits, 4 home runs, 9 RBIs and scored 7 runs. He hit .435 and posted a .519 on-base percentage.
In 2009 Alvarado is hitting .278, batted in 96 runs with 29 home runs and 58 runs scored.

 | Thursday, May 21st, 2009: Aguilera Goes 5-5 Against San Luis Potosí
If just anyone could go out and hit a baseball, big dollar contracts wouldn't exist. But they can't, so the good hitters get the big bucks. Miguel Aguilera showed how it's done as he went 5 for 5 against the San Luis Potosí Jardineros and helped the El Ray Vampiros beat them 5-4.
The manager for the Jardineros told the BNN sportswriters, "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it. That's the game of baseball. Don't make mistakes and you win a lot more ballgames."
If Aguilera keeps hitting like this, he could be headed for a big pay raise.
M. Aguilera doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off J. Quezada in the 9th.
In 2009 Aguilera has produced 35 hits in 146 at-bats for a .240 average with 4 home runs and gotten on base at a .287 clip.

 | Monday, April 13th, 2009: Randín Holds Progresivos Scoreless
El Ray pitcher Raúl Randín put on a show today and walked away with a 3-0 shutout victory over the Tlalnepantla de Baz Progresivos, throttling them on 1 hit. He just cruised through their lineup, fanning 2 and walking 2 in a strong outing.
"He was very efficient and he hit his spots," his manager said. "He stayed down in the zone and stayed away from the middle of the plate."
This season Randín has compiled a 3-4 mark, 4.07 ERA and made 12 starts.
