Baní has worked out terms of a deal to send 25-year old second baseman Tadayuki Kawaguchi to San Cristóbal for 36-year old reliever Jesús Gallegos and $776,000 in cash. Both teams expect to introduce the players to their new teammates within a day or two.
Gallegos has appeared in 48 games and captured 1 save. Over his career he has 1 win and 4 losses and a 2.87 ERA.

"This is why we play the game," commented Baní's manager after his club captured their 1st Serie de Dominicana Final crown by whipping the San Cristóbal Cajeros de Fortuna 6-4 today at Depredadoras del Peravia Ballpark.
"Baseball don't get any better than this."
The Depredadores del Peravia were victorious 5-2 in the series, after completing the regular season 42-32 and finishing in second place in the .
The losing manager had his say, too, telling reporters, "Despite the loss, this year has been a pretty good story, a doggone good story. I'm proud of my guys. We had great veteran leadership and we had players that never gave up -- no quit in us at all. And it got us here. And I'm proud of that. I think you might see the Cajeros de Fortuna back here soon."

All week long Augusto Quiñones was the toughest out in the Liga Dominicana de Béisbol Invernal and that is the prime reason he was voted the Player of the Week.
The San Cristóbal third baseman rapped out 11 hits in 27 at-bats for a .407 batting average, drove in 9 runs and scored 9 times.
This year Quiñones has hit at a .293 clip with 51 RBIs, 17 home runs and 42 runs scored.
