Mark Thomas of the Akutan Island Eagles whitewashed the Ketchikan Salmon 4-0 in a complete-game win, limiting them to 5 hits while chalking up 2 strikeouts and giving up 1 walk.
Talking to BNN writers after the game, his manager said, "He's got the makeup. He's not afraid to challenge guys. Mark is pretty poised out there. He knows how to pitch and how to use his stuff."

Ketchikan bats were ice cold today at Ballpark of Carthage. Barrow's José Alfaro chilled them down with a 7-0 victory. In a fine outing, the 20-year-old hurler allowed 3 hits while striking out 2 and walking 3.

David Dávila of the Ketchikan Salmon was masterful today, pitching a 1-hit 4-0 shutout against the Taku Winds and giving his bullpen a rest by going the the distance.
According to his manager, "He had command of every ball and every pitch . . . great location, too." Dávila had 5 strikeouts and issued 2 walks in an impressive outing.
This year Dávila has a 3-3 record with a 4.21 ERA in 9 starts.
