Breaking News Thursday, June 25th, 2009: O'Bryan Tosses Shutout Against Kilauea In an excellent mound performance, Ed O'Bryan of the Pearl City Oysters whitewashed the Kilauea Volcanoes 9-0 on a 6-hitter. He said after the game, "I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches." The Kilauea manager said, "We just didn't swing the bats well today. O'Bryan did a good job keeping us guessing." In all, the Pearl City hurler rang up 5 strikeouts and 2 walks in the shutout win. Sunday, June 21st, 2009: Estrada Fashions Shutout Against Maui Kilauea pitcher Santiago Estrada gave the Maui Sting Rays fits today as he blanked them 7-0 on 5 hits. He registered 4 strikeouts and 3 walks in the shutout. His manager said, "When he's locating his pitches, he becomes unpredictable. He had Maui guessing the entire game." Friday, September 19th, 2008: Hilo Shuts Out Kilauea Jonathan Peña pitched a strong game in blanking the Kilauea Volcanoes 4-0, allowed no runs on 6 hits, totaled 3 strikeouts and gave up 2 walks. The Hilo manager said he could tell right away it was going to be a good game for Peña. "Right from the start, you could see how economical he was," he said. "He threw a lot of strikes."
