| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, July 1st, 2009: Pearl City Starter Wins June's Pitcher Award
In June, Francisco Robles tore through the Hawaiian League like a seasoned veteran -- quite impressive for a player only 18 years old.
The young Pearl City starter posted a 4-0 mark and an ERA of 2.04 to earn the Pitcher of the Month award. In 39.2 innings he collected 11 strikeouts while limiting the opposition to a .278 average.

Dalton Scott has a lot going for him. The Pearl City catcher just broke into the majors this year and now the Hawaiian League has just picked him as its top hitter for June.
In 19 games last month, this outstanding rookie batted .471 with 1 home run, 16 RBIs and 14 runs scored.

 | Tuesday, June 30th, 2009: Oysters O'Bryan to Miss Year
The doctors have spoken and Ed O'Bryan of the Pearl City Oysters didn't like what he heard. The 21-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. O'Bryan sustained his season-ending injury during the Mokule'ia Oceanic game yesterday at Leaves Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Pearl City medical staff reported O'Bryan had a fractured elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 8 months.
O'Bryan has started 5 times this year, pitched 34 innings, fanned 15 batters and walked 9. His current record is 2 wins and 1 loss with a 2.12 ERA. |
