| Breaking News |  | Tuesday, November 25th, 2008: New Orleans Trendsetters and Calzones of Laredo Agree to Trade
Officials for the New Orleans Trendsetters confirmed that they have traded a 3rd round draft pick to the San Antonio Calzones of Laredo. In return, the Trendsetters will receive 34-year old starting pitcher José Morales.
Lifetime Morales has registered a 23-21 record with a 3.65 ERA.

 | Monday, November 10th, 2008: #1 Pitcher Trophy Won by Trendsetters McCullough
The Golden Arm Award for 2008 has been given out and the Imperial League winner is Conan McCullough of New Orleans.
For his extraordinary season, he has been named the league's premier pitcher.
During the year, the Trendsetters ace stood out with a 11-5 won-lost mark in 32 starts. In 178.2 innings he yielded 129 hits and 48 walks, while striking out 202 and compiling a fine 1.86 ERA.
The SBWA will honor all of the award winners this weekend at its annual meeting.

 | Monday, November 10th, 2008: Trendsetters-Calzones of Laredo Deal: Scott for Semblano
The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The New Orleans Trendsetters sent 33-year old right fielder Cooper Scott, 30-year old starting pitcher Chris Nicholson and 34-year old starting pitcher Alfredo Pinto to the San Antonio Calzones of Laredo for 30-year old starting pitcher Alberto Semblano and 30-year old left fielder Roberto Rodríguez.
Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal.
In 265 games, Scott is a lifetime .260 hitter. He has knocked in 105 runs, scored 127 times, hit 31 home runs, walked 105 times and has an on-base percentage of .340.
In his career Semblano has notched 22 wins and 19 losses and compiled a 3.91 ERA.
