| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, October 1st, 2008: Gutiérrez Is IL's Best Pitcher in September
Héctor Gutiérrez took a much-deserved turn in the spotlight earlier today as he accepted the Imperial League Pitcher of the Month award for September.
The 21-year-old Featherheads starter is a relative newcomer to the league, but nonetheless racked up an impressive 5-0 won-lost record in 6 starts. He fanned 15 batters in 36 innings and sported a 1.75 ERA.
Currently Gutiérrez has a record of 11-7 with 114 strikeouts and 45 walks in 174 innings and a 3.41 ERA.

 | Wednesday, September 17th, 2008: Featherheads Saunders Sidelined for 1-2 Weeks
The Florida Featherheads will have to make do without Chris Saunders for 1-2 weeks. He suffered dead arm syndrome while throwing a pitch in the game today against the London Underground. His teammates, understandably, were upset about losing the starting pitcher. "That's a tough break for him," one of them said. "But this team is resilient. We will just fill in until he gets back." Saunders will miss 1-2 weeks.
In the 2008 season Saunders has 8 wins and 4 losses and a 1.84 ERA.

Dave Cox of the Florida Featherheads blanked London 7-0 on 3 hits. He rang up 7 strikeouts, keeping batters off balance all day long.
