Friday, December 19th, 2008: González for Miyata in Big Trade
A blockbuster trade that includes superstar players was just announced at a press conference in New Jersey. The New Jersey Hitmen have sent 28-year old catcher Manuel González, 32-year old starting pitcher Luis Peńa and 25-year old minor league starting pitcher Keith Bandelow to the San Antonio Calzones of Laredo for 27-year old center fielder Yoshino Miyata, 28-year old starting pitcher Norris Moncreiff, 18-year old minor league third baseman Lee Kohler, 22-year old minor league left fielder John Knapp and 21-year old minor league center fielder Jason Davis.

To date González has a .258 career batting average and has totaled 26 home runs.

In his career Miyata is batting .321 with 363 hits, 88 doubles, 6 triples and 18 home runs.

Friday, December 19th, 2008: Big Deal: Gibson for Miyata
Officials from the San Antonio organization were all smiles as they announced a deal with the Duluth Warriors today involving several top-flight players. The Calzones of Laredo will receive 27-year old center fielder Yoshino Miyata in return for 35-year old starting pitcher Kirby Gibson and 27-year old first baseman Arron Campbell.

"Both sides had to work overtime to get this deal done," the Warriors GM reported.

In his career Gibson has notched 33 wins and 16 losses and compiled a 2.80 ERA.

His career numbers show Miyata is batting .321 with a total of 18 home runs.

Thursday, December 18th, 2008: Calzones of Laredo Swap Fisher to Knights for Taylor
A trade between the San Antonio Calzones of Laredo and the Tempe Knights was made official this morning. The San Antonio Calzones of Laredo have sent 29-year old starting pitcher Gary Fisher and 22-year old minor league second baseman Terry Thornton to the Tempe Knights in exchange for 25-year old starting pitcher Bill Taylor and 22-year old minor league catcher Bob Keller.

Lifetime Fisher has compiled a 9-22 record with a 4.64 ERA in 51 starts.

In his career, Taylor has crafted a 15-15 mark with a 4.24 ERA and tossed 257 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .256 against him and he has 186 strikeouts.
