Wednesday, December 17th, 2008: Vega and Moncreiff Traded
A trade between the San Antonio Calzones of Laredo and the Omaha Cyclones was made official this morning. The San Antonio Calzones of Laredo have sent 32-year old catcher Lorenzo Vega and 19-year old minor league third baseman Will George to the Omaha Cyclones in exchange for 28-year old starting pitcher Norris Moncreiff and 27-year old starting pitcher Kisho Ageda.

Lifetime Vega is hitting .263 with 38 doubles, 3 triples, 23 home runs, 106 RBIs and 120 runs scored. He has appeared in 264 games to date and delivered 238 hits.

So far in his career Moncreiff has 16 wins and 23 losses and a 4.61 ERA.
Tuesday, December 16th, 2008: Borealis-Cyclones Trade: Madrid for Pierce
Officials for the Aurora Borealis confirmed that they have traded 26-year old starting pitcher Fernando Madrid and a 1st round draft pick to the Omaha Cyclones. In return, the Borealis will receive 22-year old minor league left fielder Cory Pierce and a 1st round draft pick.

Madrid has posted 6 victories and 5 defeats in his career with a 4.20 ERA. He also has fanned 76 batters in 135 innings and given up 142 hits.

Monday, December 15th, 2008: Bears and Cyclones Agree to Deal
A trade between the Bakersfield Bears and the Omaha Cyclones was made official this morning. The Bakersfield Bears have sent 25-year old shortstop Ernest Mathis and 24-year old minor league starting pitcher Vincent Watson to the Omaha Cyclones in exchange for 24-year old minor league starting pitcher Juan Gonzáles, 22-year old minor league first baseman Shawn David, 21-year old minor league first baseman Miguel Salinas, a 2nd round draft pick and a 5th round draft pick.

Mathis has hit for a .233 career average and totaled 223 hits, 20 home runs and 102 RBIs.

Over the course of his career, Gonzáles has a won-lost record of 7 wins and 15 losses with 88 strikeouts in 144.1 innings pitched with a lifetime 5.92 ERA.
